The 21st annual AIDS WALK Charlotte is one of the largest HIV
awareness and fundraising event in the Carolinas. Over two decades, AIDS WALK Charlotte has raised over $2 million for HIV/AIDS prevention activities and care for those infected. AIDS WALK Charlotte is a visual representation
of the Charlotte region's commitment to caring for our neighbors in need and slowing the spread of this devastating disease.
We walk bravely because our lives and the lives of others have been touched by HIV and AIDS.
We walk bravely because it's our opportunity to stand up and be counted.
We invite YOU to walk bravely because all of us have or will be touched by HIV.
On Saturday, May 6, brave individuals walk two miles through the
heart of Uptown Charlotte in celebration of the past, present and an HIV free future.
The walk is approximately two miles long and takes the average person about 30 minutes. There is a morning program to kick-off and a brief closing ceremony will follow after the walk. Water is provided for free to all registered walkers. AIDS WALK Charlotte is a family affair (kids and pets are welcomed) and open to all who want to participate.
All funds raised during this event stay in Charlotte and benefit the services and programs RAIN provides to HIV+ youth, adults, senior adults and those that are at risk of becoming infected. RAIN's mission is to ensure access to quality, personalized care in a nurturing environment for individuals and their families who are living with HIV and associated chronic conditions so they may live healthier fulfilled lives. Through education and advocacy, RAIN promotes disease prevention, understanding and dignity for those affected by HIV and for those who are at risk.
